My husband took Jack to the doctor today, being that in addition to his cough, he's been wheezing and very recently hasn't had much of an appetite. Acutally, both of my boys are in pretty sorry shape as far as this family-communal illness is concerned. I'm the only one who is really faring okay. As far as I'm concerned, most of the time I can't tell if I'm really sick or just having an allergy flare up. Given that there's not much to be allergic to right around now, I guess I've got a touch of whatever this illness is.

And what does the doctor say? He thinks Jack has RSV. Being that he is just under 6 months old, that also puts him in the high-risk category for developing complications. Dr. Pediatrician actually debated a bit as to whether or not we ought to be taking Jack to the hospital. We're under strict instructions to go to the ER if he gets any worse, but since he isn't having a hard time breathing so far, we don't have to go yet. Doc says that he doesn't have it now, and we do send him to the hospital that he WILL get it. So we wait... As always... Wait for him to get better, or heaven forbid, wait for him to get worse. We just keep giving him the Dimetapp and hope for the best.
