New opportunities?

Still hanging in there at 37+ weeks. Everyday I come into work, everyone is surprised to see me. My husband's boss told him to make sure I gave them one more week because they are short-staffed and it would be hard for them to lose him too. Quite a circle we've come in since several weeks ago when he was sure he was getting fired. My new personal goal is if I have to make it through this week then I have to get to next Tuesday (which was my original goal) because it's Quality Commitment Day at work. It's a good time--there's a free picnic/barbeque style lunch and appreciation gifts for everyone and a raffle where they actually give away some pretty hefty prizes (like plane tickets and large (usually $25 all the way up to $1000)gift certificates to local malls & stores). I've never won anything, but hoping the fates will have pitty on me for needing to buy all larger baby clothes than what we have.
So Friday at work, my supervisor tipped me off to a new position that is in the works for getting approval. The title is "Investigations Specialist." She said she was told to "put a bug in my ear," because they think I would be good for the job. She also said she thinks it would be a step up, but she didn't have any details about it yet other than it might get posted while I'm on leave. Decisions, decisions... From what I gather, it would almost certainly mean that I'll be out of the lab indefinitely and be stuck in a more office-type role. That isn't something to look forward to, but for more money? Plus, this position is going to be something of a QA type job, so that will help me not only look for lab positions later whenever we decide to move, but also for QA jobs. However, I've also been thinking that they might want me to go back to first shift for this, which means I may get a little more money, but then lose even more when they take my shift differential away. I really need to know more about this. I wish they had some details.
